Caring Your Elders

Caring Your Elders
Caring Your Elders
Molly is an old cow. Her daughter Annie takes care of her. Molly does not like dry grass. So, she is not eating. Annie gets angry. It is difficult for her to bring soft grass from far away. Annie shouts at Molly, "You are so big but you behave like a child! Why can't you eat dry grass? Why do you trouble me so much?" Tears start rolling down Molly's old face. Annie feels bad and asks, "Why are you crying?" Molly replies, "Did I ever shout at you when you were small? My teeth are so weak. I can't chew. I feel so sick and weak and shout at me." Annie remembers her childhood days. Her mother used to get up early to bring soft and tender grass for her. She used to lick Annie every day. She never shouted or screamed at her. She spoke softly. Annie looks at her sobbing mother. She turns and goes to the faraway field. Annie comes back with a huge bundle of soft grass. She keeps it before her mother. Molly opens her sad eyes and smiles when she sees the food. She loves it. Annie is happy to see her mother's smile. She hugs her old mother and promises to always take care of her.
