The Obstacle In Our Path

The Obstacle In Our Path
The Obstacle In Our Path
In ancient times, there was a king had a rock placed on a roadway. Then he hid and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock from the roadway. Some of the king’s richest traders and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many of the peoples loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the roadway. Then a farmer came along bearing a load of vegetables.

On approaching the rock, the farmer put down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. And then the farmer picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the rock had been before.  The purse contained many gold coins and a letter from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the rock from the roadway. The farmer learned what many others never understand.

True Wealth

True Wealth
True Wealth
Once upon a time, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a tour to the country with the purpose of showing his son how the poor people live so he could be thankful to his father for his wealth.

The father and his son spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their tour, the father asked his son, “How was the tour?” The son replied, “It was excellent, Dad.” Then the father questioned “Did you recognize how the poor people can be? “Oh yeah,” said the son. “So what did you learn from this tour?” the father asked.

Then the son replied, “I recognized that we have only one dog and they had four dogs. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no any end.” “We have imported lanterns in our home and they have the stars at night.” “Our patio reaches up to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.” “We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go exceeding our sight.” “We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.” “We buy our food, but they grow theirs.” “We have walls around our home to protect us; they have friends to protect them.”

With this the boy’s father was speechless. Then his son said his father that, “Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are.”

There was a milkmaid who was on her way to the market to sell some milk from her cow. As she carried the large jug of milk on topmost of her head, she started to dream of all the things she could do after selling the milk.

“With that money, I’ll buy a hundred chicks to rear in my courtyard. When they are fully grown. Then I can sell them at a good price at the market.”

As she walked on, she continuous dreaming, “Then I will buy two young goats and rear them on the grass close by. When they are completely grown, I can sell them at an even good price!”

Still dreaming, she said to herself, “Shortly, I will be able to buy another cow, and I will have more milk to sell in the market. Then I shall have even more money...”

With these glad thoughts, she began to skip and jump. Suddenly she tripped and fell. The jug broke and all the milk fell onto the ground.

It was a hot sunny day and a fox was walking across the fields. Soon he came near a vineyard. As he came nearer, the fox could see some bunches of juicy grapes.

The fox looked wisely around him. He had to make assured that he was safe from the hunters. Then he decided to steal some grapes from the vineyard before anyone came along.

He jumped upwards but he could not able reach the grapes. He jumped again as high as he could and tried very much. He still could not reach the grapes. The grapes were just too high for the fox!

But the fox was not ready to give up. He backed off and then took some running steps and leaped into the air towards the grapes. Again he failed to reach to the grapes.

It was getting dark, and the fox was getting angry. His legs were also hurt with all that running and jumping. At last, he stopped trying.

As he walked away, and then he said to himself, “I don’t really want those grapes. I’m sure they are very much sour to eat.”

The Clever Lamb

One Day a lamb was grazing with a flock of sheep. At the edge of the field, the lamb found some sweet grass. Farther and farther she went, away from the flock of sheep.

She was enjoying herself so much eating sweet grass and she did not notice a wolf coming nearer to her. However, when the wold pounced on her, she was quick to start saying to the wolf that, “Please, please don’t eat me yet. My stomach is full of grass. If you wait a while, I will taste much better and that will be good for you.”

The wolf thought that it is a good idea, so he sat down and waited. After a while, the lamb said, “If you allow me to dance, the grass in my stomach will be digested faster.” Again the wolf agreed to what the lamb said.

While the lamb was dancing, she got a new idea. She said to the wolf that, “Please take the bell from around my neck. If you ring it as hard as you can, I will be able to dance faster.”
The wolf took the bell from the neck of the lamb and rang it as hard as he could. The shepherd heard the bell ringing and rapidly sent his dogs to find the missing lamb. The barking dogs terrified the wolf away and saved the lamb’s life.
